    Responsible for successfully supporting UNIFY Financial Credit Union’s daily business and operational requirements for the CU’s Core Banking System through high systems availability, proficient systems management, peak systems performance, effective team communication, efficient process management, and error-free deliverables.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensures that appropriate standards are met in regards to all assigned systems and deliverables, including enterprise host system and all ancillary host systems connections; host user accounts, host parameters, and host file storage; phone banking and eBanking delivery channels; batch job processing and scheduling of batch member transaction executables and output; third-party connections and data exchange; periodic member notification processing (statements, notices, letters, etc.); credit and year-end tax reporting; Federal Reserve processing; host check printer servers; and cash dispense machines.
    • Implements formalized and documented system monitoring processes/tools, department processes, vendor support, and business continuity plans to ensure 100% system uptime of all assigned systems per business requirements. Follows industry best practices to preserve 100% confidentiality, 100% integrity, and 100% accuracy of member/team member data on all assigned systems.
    • Maintains up-to-date inventory of production equipment, backup equipment, department supplies, hardware/software licenses, and systems support contracts, for all assigned systems. Implements and maintains current release level of the core banking system.
    • Implements and maintains system performance matrices for profitability analyses, deployment strategies, service expectations, and organizational reports.
    • Identifies and addresses vulnerabilities of all assigned systems/ deliverables, and ensures that all hardware/software platform configurations are current to vendor specifications at all times. Performs audits on permissions levels of accounts.
    • Leads the disaster recovery/business continuity plans for all assigned systems/ deliverables.
    • Collaborates with the different departments and leadership teams within the Credit Union to manage key projects, including new products, systems, processes or applications.
    • Employs rigid pre-production deployment testing regimen for all assigned systems/deliverables.
    • Implements up-to-date tracking methodologies/tools for all outstanding requests, trouble-tickets, department projects, and deliverables, in order to ensure that due dates are met.
    • Manages the 24/7 work schedules to ensure 100% department coverage. Manages timesheets and job expectations. Ensures that needed cross-training level is achieved and maintained. Manages performance evaluations.
    • Establishes formalized and documented processes of communicating Credit Union business changes, project updates, deliverable status and systems issues to all levels of the team, and to the membership if applicable.
    • Plans yearly systems hardware/software/ technical support budget forecasts. Implements cost-savings initiatives for all assigned systems/deliverables.
    • Evaluates, recommends, procures and implements all hardware/software equipment and technical support contract terms for all assigned systems/deliverables.
    • Resolves complex issues, establishes work priorities, and makes actionable decisions within established organizational guidelines, budget, and authority.
    • Keeps abreast of Core Banking System industry trends/best practices and new hardware/software products to support growth objectives.
    • Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Financial Credit Union Service Standards, policies, and procedures; and with the Bank Secrecy Act.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred; with a minimum of five years of related experience, and two years Supervisory experience, preferably in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Requires a minimum of eight years of experience with Symitar or related systems. Requires thorough knowledge of data center operations in a multi-platform environment; the ability to develop data processing strategies; and the ability to handle multiple tasks successfully and to handle complex situations independently.  Must possess strong team member/member service philosophy.  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
