    • Serves as the primary Compliance contact for the department and responds to the day-to-day compliance questions submitted by internal lines of business. Builds and maintains constructive, collaborative working relationships characterized by credibility and mutual respect.
    • Employs effective oral and written communication skills to proofread, review, paraphrase, summarize, and report on complex government rules, regulations, and guidance.
    • Researches federal and state banking laws and regulations as changes occur, reviews the credit union's policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with compliance with laws and regulations.
    • Reviews disclosures, advertising and publications for compliance, making appropriate recommendations as needed.
    • Represents department in evaluating operational system changes and new products. Recommends changes or enhancements to limit losses and compliance risk exposures to Management.
    • Takes responsibility for providing timely and accurate information, responses and decisions to internal team members. Willingly accepts and embraces constructive coaching and feedback as needed.
    • Performs reviews to prospectively test compliance with established laws, regulations, company policies and managerial guidelines. Participates in the development of corrective action plans where areas of opportunity are identified.
    • Updates, publishes, posts, and maintains procedures online via the Credit Union’s Intranet working with Management and Department Leaders in addition to communicating procedural changes to team members.
    • Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Service Standards, policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.


    A minimum of three years compliance or financial institution related experience. General familiarity with Federal and State Laws and regulations applicable to credit unions/banks desired, with a willingness to obtain Compliance certification (CUCE or NCCO) within first year. Strong ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, and proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat required.
