Responsibilities

Effectively and efficiently promotes and processes Real Estate loan products, services, and programs, while assisting and organizing the team to ensure maximum production and productivity.

 

  • Assigns workflow to processors, and ensures processing queue is within established SLAs for purchase and refinance transactions.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for training new processors on the multiple systems used in the processing of real estate loans.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert in ensuring that team is fully knowledgeable about TRID disclosure preparation, calculations, and delivery within regulatory requirements.
  • Assists management with the Processing team, helping ensure that Department performance standards and production goals are met or exceeded.
  • Ensures a full and complete working knowledge of all Credit Union Real Estate loan products, programs, policies, and procedures, as well as all governing regulatory laws and guidelines.
  • Ensures a full and complete working knowledge of all operational functions required to perform job, including all automated and non-automated systems and processes required to complete a detailed financial analysis for underwriting purposes, render a financially sound underwriting decision, communicate and correspond with external business entities for required regulatory file documentation, and ensure that final loan file documentation adheres to all regulatory requirements.
  • Contacts members and discusses terms and conditions of the loan within established time frames. Is able to restructure loans as necessary and appropriate within applicable procedures, guidelines and regulations.
  • Corresponds and communicates with members to obtain all documents necessary for pending loans. Mails form letters and disclosures to members. 
  • Maintains pending loan files and follow-up procedures, and ensures action is taken within established time frames.
  • Maintains quality and accuracy rating on loan fundings within established department guidelines.
  • Cross-sells Credit Union products and services.
  • Responds to member and staff inquiries within established time periods (i.e. phone messages and emails within the same day; mail within five working days).Completes all assignments on or prior to given deadlines. Assists in preparing and arranging the dissemination of information to members and others in a manner that will project a favorable image for the Credit Union.
  • Attends industry/professional seminars, training, etc.
  • Ensures full compliance with UNIFY Financial Credit Union service standards, policies, and procedures; and with the Bank Secrecy Act and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required, with four to five years of loan processing and/or underwriting experience, preferably in a financial institution; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Requires the ability to conduct an effective analysis of applicant’s credit status, and to recommend appropriate alternatives where the analysis reveals an insufficient financial position for the loan as requested. 
  • Requires a broad knowledge of credit fundamentals and lending regulations. 
  • Requires knowledge of Secondary Market underwriting requirements. 
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software applications.
